Mystery Wine Revealed: 2010 Masi, Masianco

This week, William Shatner sat down with Cheesemonger, Marnie Clarke. She wowed us this week with her knowledge of wine and cheese!

So let's review! The mystery wine featured in this episode was a pinot grigio and verduzzo from Italy.

Right away, even before tasting the wine, Marnie knew it would pair well with a soft and creamy goats milk cheese. Verduzzo is a type of white wine grape that is predominantly grown in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of northeast Italy. This mix of pinot grigio and verduzzo makes for a bright, springy wine and after watching this episode, it made us want to take the rest of the day off to gorge ourselves on wine and cheese. The 2010 Masi is a reasonably priced wine that averages at about $15 a bottle. To learn more about Marnie and DTLA Cheese, click here
