Vanity Fair announced that Monica Lewinsky is back and talking about her experiences since her affair with President Clinton 16 years ago in their newist issue available nationwide on May 8th. She says "It’s time to burn the beret and bury the blue dress."
This Monica Lewinsky thing is about the only thing that could get me to buy a copy of Vanity Fair— Kyle (@kyleraccio) May 6, 2014
Other revelations in the article include how much she regrets her affair, the humiliation she faced on the internet, being on suicide watch and still, 16 years later, being referenced in every day pop culture. If you didn't think Monica Lewinsky was brave, she even corrects Beyonce's lyrics in her song "Partition."
Beyonce's lyrics: "He popped all my buttons, and he ripped my blouse/He Monica Lewinsky-ed all on my gown."
Monica's correction: "Thanks, Beyoncé but if we’re verbing, I think you meant 'Bill Clinton’d all on my gown,' not ‘Monica Lewinsky’d."
Of course, Monica Lewinsky began trending on twitter almost immediately after the story broke.
Pretty cool of Monica Lewinsky to do an interview giving comedians like me who were 12 in 1998 the chance to get in on the jokes. THX LADY!— Jenna Kim Jones (@jennakimjones) May 6, 2014
Congratulations to all of the road hacks who can start using their #MonicaLewinsky jokes again.— Will Watkins (@WilliamAWatkins) May 6, 2014
So how many folks saw that Monica Lewinsky is now 40 and thought, wait, she's HOW old now? And then, "I'm HOW old now?"— Chuck Todd (@chucktodd) May 6, 2014
Of course, a lot of the jokes are accompanied by rumors.
There's a very good chance Monica Lewinsky will be a surprise guest on 'The View' next week for Barbara's farewell.— Ramin Setoodeh (@RaminSetoodeh) May 6, 2014
Do you think they brought #MonicaLewinsky back to get in the way of Hilary running for president?— aka The Graytest (@MacyGraysLife) May 6, 2014
Ugh. Settle in, everybody.
