After hearing that Joan Rivers passed away yesterday at the age of 81, David Letterman took a few minutes of his show last night to discuss Joan and what her life meant to him. No one can deny that Joan was an incredible and influential woman. It's safe to say that any comedian, male or female, was most likely inspired by her. Comedy needed Joan Rivers and she will be greatly missed by all.
Here's hoping she is celebrated and remembered like she wanted.

We think Amy Poehler, who isn't on twitter, said it best: “What a full life. Every woman in comedy is indebted to her. She was there at the beginning and funny to the end. RIP Joan.”
