What if 'Star Wars: Episode I' was Good?

Because you know the prequels sucked.

Okay, my dweeby friends, time for some real talk. We love Star Wars as much as (read: more than) the next guy or gal, but that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t change a few things if we could. We all know the prequels left a lot to be desired, and one guy is showing us exactly what that those things are.

The video below shows us a reworked version of Episode I that tells a similar story but with a few key changes…

First of all, the story centers around my boy Obi-Wan Kenobi, which is awesome for several reasons, including the fact that now he gets to be with Padmé and I don’t go out of my mind over the cradle-robbing madness that is the Anakin/Padmé relationship.

Probably the other most notable change is that in this version, Darth Maul doesn’t die. This way Obi-Wan has a strong motivation leading him through the rest of the story (kind of Inigo Montoya-esque), and we get to see one of the prettiest villains in Star Wars wreak some havoc for a little longer.

And, bonus, they did one of these for Episode II as well! Check it out here. No word on Episode III yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
