Our Favorite Things About Captain America

In which we fangirl over Cap really, really hard.

Here he is, the last avenger. Well, technically the first avenger. You know what we mean. Captain America is really cool because is superpower is actually just being a good person. Unlike the other avengers who can't control their anger, greed, or egos, Cap is just nothing but a straight up good guy. And what do you say about the guy who's already pretty perfect? Well, you give him more praise. So here are the three best things about Captain America.

"Are you ready to follow Captain America into the jaws of death?"

"Hell no. That little guy from Brooklyn who was too dumb not to run away from a fight. I'm following him."

Simply put, Steve Rogers is a really good friend. Yeah, he does everything he does because he's a soldier and a great guy, but we never see him more motivated and determined than in the moments when he's trying to save Bucky. Their friendship is pretty awesome, especially when you think back to when they were buddies in New York. Bucky saved Steve from Bullies, tried to get him dates, and stayed supportive when Steve couldn't join the army. And then Steve saved Bucky's life. That's friendship.

"A strong man, who has known power all his life, will lose respect for that power. But a weak man knows the value of strength, and knows compassion."

Captain America's story is one about what would happen if your outside matched your inside, and your body reflected your heart. Steve is a hero because, and only because, he is such a damn good person. How awesome is that? But it's not like he's super proud of himself or really into the attention he's getting. He just legit wants the world to be rid of bullies, because he knows what it feels like to be the guy getting beat up in the alley. He stands up for all of those little guys, and that's what makes him such a good soldier.

"Figured I'd wait."

"For what?"

"The right partner."

Captain America's relationship with Peggy Carter is really understaded but really sweet. It doesn't get much screen time, but when it does, it sure packs a punch. We love all of the recurring bits: Steve's continual lack of knowledge about women, the picture of her he keeps on him all the time, and of course, the idea of finding a right partner. It's beyond perfect that his last words to her are about stepping on each others' feet- it illustrates just how far he's come with women in general and how excited he is to begin his relationship with Peggy. That moment couldn't be sweeter.

Captain America has great friends, a great personality, and a great love interest. Oh, and he sacrifices his life. AND he survives. What doesn't this guy have? Well, other than Agent Carter. Or any knowledge of the modern world... But we'll get to that later.
