This is absolutely a thing that should happen more often. The idea is that ten years have passed between Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (Damn. Those titles don't make it easy on anyone, do they?), so we, the audience, need to know what's been going down in the meantime. In order to educate us, Fox teamed up with Motherboard to produce a few short videos, called the "Before The Dawn" series. And you can watch them right here, right now. Wouldn't it be great if every movie in theaters had a couple of fun prequels online? Fox, we approve. Just sayin'. So, here they are.

The Gun
The star of this one is the political rant. "Avian flu? I don't remember anybody pointing a finger at... the avians!"
So basically these movies just give us an inside look at the whole Simian Flu situation. They may not really have plots, but they're something to watch if you're into Planet of the Apes, which we are. So we'll take it.
