That Deadpool Footage is Back Online (For Now)

Why can't they get this movie made?

By Jesse B. Gill

We now know what a Ryan Reynolds Deadpool movie would look like and holy crap…it would look awesome.

The week directly following San Diego Comic Con is usually a deserted wasteland when it comes to news. All of the big companies blast out their big news bits during the convention, so once it’s all over, everybody kind of needs a few days to recharge their batteries.

But the Internet provided on Monday when test footage from the long-talked-about Deadpool film starring Ryan Reynolds “leaked.” Reynolds and director Tim Miller are still trying to get this thing made and I think they leaked the footage to generate enough fan support to convince Fox to let them bring Deadpool to the big screen for the first time.

That’s right. I said ‘the first time.’ I don’t think anyone actually considers THIS abomination to actually be the Merc with a Mouth.

I certainly don’t.

Anyway, the “leaked” footage quickly disappeared, as Fox probably threatened to dismember anyone to post it. On Tuesday, the footage reappeared in a more official capacity. Here it is:

Great, right?

Such a better representation of Deadpool than whatever the hell was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. And the fact that it’s all CG miiiiiiiight be the best part about it. It’s about time they made a full-on movie that competes with all those superhero video game cutscenes.
