The Best Responses to Steven Spielberg's Dinosaur Killing

What a terrible, terrible man.

Posted by Leah Singerman

This week, Jay Branscomb posted a picture of Steven Spielberg, everyone's favorite friendly neighborhood ridiculously successful moviemaker, posing with a dead dinosaur.

The caption: "Disgraceful photo of recreational hunter happily posing next to a Triceratops he just slaughtered. Please share so the world can name and shame this despicable man."

And it was clearly a joke, because 1) It's Steven Speilberg, 2) It's a dinosaur, and 3) Everybody in the free world has heard of Jurassic Park.

But apparently we just have too much faith in people, because not everybody got the joke. And some things got cray. So, allow us to present just a few of the Internet's best responses to this whole debacle.

Steven Spielberg, ruining the good name of Jews everywhere.

Steven Spielberg, closet jerk. How did we not know?

How can we get back at him? This is surely the most logical form of punishment.

How could he? Those fake extinct dinosaurs feel so much pain.

Hey, wait a second. This couldn't have been real.

Oh... it was a joke?

For some, it was sad.

For some, it got political. Very political. It was uncomfortable.

And for some, it was an opportunity to speak the truth.

And... yes. Just yes.

So, there you have it. Life lessons we learned from the Internet today: some people are really dumb, some people are really funny, and Steven Spielberg is fantastic. That's pretty much all we need to know. So what do you think? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @DweebCast.
