The Skeleton Twins is a movie about two extremely damaged siblings who come together after being estranged for a decade. A sad drama starring two great comedians - doesn't quite add up. Bill Hader, though, is amazing and shines bright like a diamond. Lo and behold, my buddy Luke Wilson, in his best role to date, is funny, charming and dare I say, scene stealing! He is fully committed to his simple character, and holds his own in scenes with Hader. Kristen Wiig can’t do much other than be funny and quirky. Don’t get me wrong, Wiig is a comic genius, truly one of the greats, but she wilts next to Hader who can seriously act.
The final product is a bit of a mess. Hader's performance makes it worth seeing but maybe save it for on demand.
Definitely too dark for kids and Grandma won't be too interested.
