An elderly couple takes on the local authorities for permission to build a home that will be their last. It’s a simple story but it’s affecting. I discovered this gem on demand one evening and could not have been happier, and sadder. It brings into mind aging parents, what “home” means and complex moral and ethical issues. The acting (James Cromwell and Genevieve Bujold) is superb and the entire film is understated and really nice.

A bit of a snooze for kids but if there was ever a movie for grandma, this is it!
