Immediately after discovering his wife’s infidelity, a man’s father dies, forcing him to spend an awkward seven days with his dysfunctional family. Tina Fey, Jason Bateman, and an all-star ensemble cast come together to perform in this amusing yet achingly derivative dramedy. There are a million movies about bickering family members in a pressure cooker, but this one brings nothing exciting to the trope. That said, if you’re a huge fan of the dysfunctional family genre, and don’t mind seeing it over and over again, this movie is lovely and heartwarming and worth giving a watch. I’m giving it 3 fake Jane Fonda boobs out of 5. This is Where I Leave You is now playing in theaters.
