Sergey Kovalev: Even a day?
Larry King: That day.
Sergey Kovalev: That I must kick his ass, you know?
Larry King: What do you eat?
Sergey Kovalev: I eat what can give me energy, you know? And what can make me happy.
Larry King: Do you eat steak?
Sergey Kovalev: Yeah, steak or chicken, you know. Not any sweets, you know, because like dessert’s after. You should deserve desserts.
Larry King: Are you nervous before a fight?
Sergey Kovalev: Of course. Because I am still alive and for every fight I notice like- it’s not scared. Right now I already have a lot of experience you know? With a- I have control of scare. And this scare makes just nervousness, sports nervous. Need to not worry early, start to think about fight because it can eat your energy.
Larry King: Ali told me once, Muhammad, he told me, ‘every fight’s scared because the other guy’s trying to kill him. Who wouldn’t be afraid?
Sergey Kovalev: Yeah, you’re right.
Larry King: All right, do you tune the crowd out? Do you hear the crowd?
Sergey Kovalev: No, only close people, you know? Who I know. And in the hard moment, in the fight when not enough something, you hearing exactly what you need, you know? But not all this crowd.
Larry King: I see. You hear your trainer?
Sergey Kovalev: Trainer, or uh, some close people you know, who knows me. Who knows me since youngest ages.
Larry King: They’re there in your corner?
Sergey Kovalev: Because a lot of my friends will come again for the fight you know? They close to the ring. Seats like second, third seats. And they can sometimes say what I need, exactly.
