Actress and former Scientologist Leah Remini sits with Larry King to discuss her new A&E docuseries “Scientology and the Aftermath.” She gives Larry insight into her own history with the church and what made her leave. Leah Remini also sheds light on her relationship with actor and famed Scientologist Tom Cruise, and his role within the organization’s structure.
The author of the memoir “Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology” Leah Remini joins Larry King to speak out against the controversial church. Having been raised in the church since childhood, Remini discusses the abusive practices that the church is most known for: from rape allegations against supervisors to forced abortions. She also reveals that she and her family left the church after Remini’s questions about the rumors led to forced interrogations.
Leah Remini also details the day-to-day life of a Scientologist. She explains that Scientologists are expected to spend upwards of two and a half hours a day at the church, and that services are never offered for free. Instead, she tells Larry King about the church requiring members to continually pay for the right to remain involved.
