Mackenzie Phillips has no regrets about revealing incestuous relationship with her father

Larry King NowFeb 03 '17

Mackenzie Phillips openly discusses her shocking 2009 revelation that, in her late teens, she had had a sexual relationship with her father, musician John Phillips. Mackenzie also explains why she has no regrets about publicly disclosing that part of her life.

Larry King: Do you ever regret saying that you had a relationship with your father?

Mackenzie Phillips: No I don’t.

Larry King: There’s so much controversy. The family denied it.

Mackenzie Phillips: I don’t regret speaking out about it – incest, because there’s so many people who feel they don’t have a voice, and we opened up a national dialogue. Yes, it was very difficult for me as a person and as a family member and as a mom and as a daughter. But I think the greater good was addressed because it did open up a dialogue nationally about this, about incest.
