Feud of the Week: Kanye West Vs. Taylor Swift

The Taylor Swift / Kanye West feud started in 2009 and doesn't look like it'll be going away anytime soon

There have been many famous feuds between musicians and artists throughout history: Biggie vs 2 Pac, Mariah Carey vs Nicki Minaj, Drake vs Meek Mills just to name a few. But none appear to be more prolific today than that of Kanye West vs Taylor Swift.

It all started in 2009 when then 19-year-old Taylor Swift had just won Best Female Video for “You Belong With Me” at the VMAs. Taylor stepped up the microphone to give her acceptance speech when Kanye jumped onto the stage and grabbed the mic.Kanye then gave his now infamous speech stating, "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!" He never did let her finish and he was booed off the stage. Kanye later apologized and Taylor, somewhat, accepts.

Fast forward to 2016. Kanye has released his latest album, The Life of Pablo. Kanye premiered his album at a special event where people were able to hear his newest work for the first time. He mentions Taylor in the song titled “Famous” stating, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous/Goddamn, I made that bitch famous." Kanye claimed that Taylor had given him permission to use the line, which her reps denied.

Taylor quickly fired back at Kanye a few days later during her Grammy acceptance speech for Album of the Year. Although she never mentions his name, everyone knew who she was talking about: "As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there: there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame."

The feud doesn’t end there. That same weekend Kanye was the musical guest host on SNL where he apparently had a meltdown due to the stage not being to his liking. Page Six  posted audio footage two days after Taylor gave her Grammys speech of Kanye caught in a rage and claiming that he’s “50 percent more influential than any other human being” and allegedly called Taylor Swift a “fake ass." But when Kanye was recently asked about her Grammys speech, he responded saying, "I want the best for that person." Proving that Kanye is as inconsistent as his mood.

This isn't the first time (and likely not the last) Kanye has been in a feud. He is still in an ongoing feud with his ex Amber Rose. Check out this video where Wendy Williams trys to explain the feud to Larry King.

So the question that has to be asked is who is winning the feud – Taylor or Kanye? Answer the poll and leave your thoughts in the comments below!
