Lady Gaga, Lorde, Demi Lovato & Taylor Swift Rally Around Kesha

Celebs show support for the singer after injunction denial.

On Saturday, a New York judge denied Kesha a court injunction that would have allowed her to make new music away from her record label Sony Music. New York Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich ruled for Dr. Luke and Sony as Kesha shed tears, telling the singer's lawyers, "You're asking the court to decimate a contract that was heavily negotiated and typical for the industry."  Her legal team asked for an injunction because Kesha's music career could be "irreparably harmed" if she did not return to recording music. In October 2014, Kesha sued Dr. Luke, accusing him of drugging, raping and abusing her nearly a decade ago. Dr. Luke had denied all wrongdoing.

"There has been no showing of irreparable harm. She's being given opportunity to record," Judge Kornreich said in her ruling. According to New York Daily NewsKesha will have to record six more albums under Kemosabe Records, Dr. Luke's Sony subsidiary.

Two days after the ruling, it was reported that Taylor Swift gave Kesha $250,000 of her own money. "In a show of support, Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time," a spokesperson for Swift confirmed in a statement.

Swift followed the likes of Lady Gaga, Lorde, Grimes, Lily Allen, and Kelly Clarkson who all took to Twitter to publicly show their support for the singer. "There are people all over the world who love you Kesha," Gaga tweeted. "And I can say truly I am in awe of your bravery."  "Standing with Kesha through this traumatic, deeply unfair time," added Lorde. "Send good vibes her way, everyone."

Some other celebrities, pundits and everyday citizens on social media have contended that this case is an example of why many women avoid reporting incidents of sexual assault against them.

Recently, Amber Rose guest hosted a panel discussion on sexual assault and 'slut shaming' for Larry King Now.  During a discussion on how to prevent young boys from becoming future sexual assault offenders, Rose says that it is often young males who write degrading things to her on social media. Plus, Orange is the New Black star Matt McGorry gaves his take on derogatory language used towards women and girls.

Following her much talked-about ‘SlutWalk’ in Los Angeles, Rose hosted the panel including McGorry, singer Frenchie Davis and female sexual medicine specialist, Dr. Jennifer Berman. Watch the full discussion below.
