Kesha may not have been able to get released from her Sony Music contract, but producer Dr. Luke might be. According to the entertainment news site The Wrap, Lukasz Gottwald - better known as music producer Dr. Luke - is reportedly being dropped from his Sony contract a year before its 2017 expiration.

However, his team has already responded to these claims, telling The Wrap: “This is not true.  Luke has an excellent relationship with Sony.  His representatives are in regular contact with executives at the highest levels at Sony and this has never come up."

A source told TheWrap that Sony wishes to drop Dr. Luke following the Kesha controversy. The pop singer filed a lawsuit back in 2014 in an attempt to break her contract with Sony.  She no longer wanted to work with Dr. Luke, who she accused of abusing, drugging and sexually assaulting her.

"The fact that this hasn't already been taken care of is confusing, especially for people in the building," a source told TheWrap.

The battle in court has drawn a lot of attention to Sony Music.  Stars, including Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift, have rallied around Kesha during this time.

A Sony spokesperson has declined to comment on the issue.
