Larry Hagman

Larry Hagman was a film and television actor best known for playing ruthless oil baron J.R. Ewing in the 1980's prime time soap opera, Dallas and befuddled astronaut Major Anthony "Tony' Nelson in the 1960's sitcom, I Dream of Jeannie. In 1964, he made his film debut in Ensign Pulver which featured a young Jack Nicholson. That same year Hagman also appeared in Fail Safe with Henry Fonda. Hagman reprised his breakout role as J.R. Ewing in TNT's continuation of Dallas which began in 2012. Hagman sustained this role up until his death in November of 2012 from complications of acute myeloid leukemia.
