Mark Harmon

Mark Harmon is a veteran television and film actor, known internationally for his ongoing role as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the hit show NCIS, which he has played since 2003. After a stellar career as quarterback at UCLA, Harmon transitioned to acting full-time, first rising to stardom in the 1970s, earning his first Supporting Act Emmy nomination for television movie, Eleanor and Franklin: The White House Years. He continued his upward ascension in the '80s with his memorable three-season turn as Dr. Robert Caldwell on the lauded drama series St. Elsewhere. His beloved NCIS character, Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, made his first appearance in a two-episode arc on drama series, JAG. He also directed for television as well; he's directed two episodes each of Chicago Hope and Boston Public. Harmon's acting has earned him thirteen nominations, including back-to-back SAG nods for his role as Dr. Jack McNeil in Chicago Hope.
