Ora.TV's Premieres New Cross Country Adventure Series 'Wayward Nation'

(March 4, 2014) -- Ora TV, the leading multi-platform network and production studio, bring viewers a new cutting edge original program exploring the idea of the new American Dream from the millennial perspective through storytelling in the new series “Wayward Nation.” Series creators Mikey McManus and Eric Rusch set out with crew Ethan Amarant, J. Pinder, and Andy Laub, on a cross country adventure to redefine what the American Dream means today. The series comes from executive producers Harris Fishman (Cat Dancers, SXSW/Special Jury Prize, HBO 2009) and Ora TV CEO, Jon Housman (Larry King Now, Off the Grid with Jesse Ventura). In 12 self contained episodes, each between 6-10 minutes long, “Wayward Nation,” follows our cast/creators on a journey entirely based on thriving and learning from taking on new experiences and challenges, as they team up withinspiringpioneers, who offer a new version of the American dream to the millennial generation.

Tired of traditional societal standards, these five friends take an exploration via an RV named Janice to discover what their generation’s pioneers are doing to revitalize and realize Their ownAmerican Dream. Brushing aside conventional wisdom, they embark on a journey of a lifetime with the only desire to better themselves, find inspiration, and of course to have a lot of fun along the way.

The shows creative mirrors the lives of the friends themselves. Five extremely driven friends who spent years saving up money, sleeping out of their cars, learning the entire way to ultimately create a passion project that hit one targeted message. If you want to change the world, do it. The adventures take them thousands of miles, with stories and incredible footage ranging from onsite locations in Las Vegas, Austin, Haiti and more, from building homes out of straw and mud, back alley prostate exams to raise money for cancer, flying airplanes and experiencing army training, being a part of disaster relief teams and chasing F5 tornado’s, just to name a few, all while capturing the entire experience and the incredible people they meet along the way.

And all of this was to lead by example for their generation – “there is plenty that's wrong with our world, but there are infinite ways to make this place better.Just pick something and go make it happen, no matter what it takes.”

"No one is talking about what the American Dream means to the new Generation…until now," said Jon Housman. “Wayward Nation highlights incredible stories of millennials not only taking action toward something they believe in, but proving how one person, one act, is never too small to make a difference.”

Ora TV is proud to introduce this addictive and captivating series to the SXSW audience of forward thinkers. “Wayward Nation” will debut exclusively on Ora TV September 3rd 2014. For more information, please visit: http://www.ora.tv/waywardnation
