Stranger Pays Single Mother's Dinner Bill; Praises Parenting Skills

This story will make you tear up! ÂComing out of ABC11 in Durham, North Carolina.

The mother wrote into the television station to share the story of what happened during a recent visit to the local Pizza Hut.

The woman told the station, the past few years have been hard as she is going through a messy divorce and has had to move with her three children several times.

She said she recently found out her 4 year-old daughter has been bullying others at school, her six year old is living with Asperger's and ADHD, and her college-aged kid has had to take a year off school to help her.

Every Friday night, the woman takes her kids out for dinner at a different restaurant.

It happened around 6 p.m -- her son's medication had worn off and she was in for what she thought would be a tough dinner.

She told the man sitting in the booth next to her that her children might be a little loud and apologized for any disturbance.

The man left shortly after, but left the woman a note.  Here is what it said:

"I do not know your back story, but I have had the privilege of watching you parent your children for the past 30 minutes. I have to say thank you for parenting your children in such a loving manner.

I have watched you teach your children about the importance of respect, education, proper manners, communication, self control, and kindness all while being very patient. I will never cross your path again but am positive that you and your children have amazing futures.

Keep up the good work and when it starts to get tough do not forget that others may be watching and will need the encouragement of seeing a good family being raised. God bless! -Jake"
