Disney Channel introduced a same-sex couple, for the first time ever, on one of its hit shows Sunday night.
The episode of the family sitcom, Good Luck Charlie, included a storyline about one of the title character's classmates, who has two lesbian mothers.
A Disney Channel spokesperson told TV Guide the choice was part of an effort to be "relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness."
Former Disney star turned twerker, Miley Cyrus, was eager to support the decision, tweeting, "I commend Disney for making this step into the light of the generation they control."
