The tech-giant's newest project has over 700,000 miles of freeway under its belt. The self-driving cars now moving on to urban streets for further testing. Google released a new video Monday showing exactly how the new technology works.

Google's self-driving car is graduating from the freeway to the city. The car has already driven about 700,000 miles on the freeway. The car is retrofitted with lasers, cameras and other devices that will make it easy for the car to be on autonomous mode in a city environment. 

 

Google doesn't intend to make their own cars


So far, the self-driving car has only been tested in four states, yet Nissan CEO expects to have a self-driving car out for the public by the year 2020. Google doesn't intend to make their own cars, preferring to go with expert and established car manufacturers as partners instead.
