Malala Yousafzai was released from Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, England, January, 4th, 2013. The 15-year-old Pakistani school girl was shot in the head by Taliban militants on her way home from school, in October 2012. Doctors say Malala will be treated as an outpatient for a few weeks.The New York Times reports she must eventually undergo a cranial reconstructive surgery as part of her long term recovery.
