NFL wide receiver Mike Wallace found himself in how water after tweeting he “didn’t understand” why anyone would be gay.The comments came on the heels of NBA Washington Wizards’ player Jason Collins historic admission today that he was gay.Collins becomes the first openly gay American team sport player to come out of the closet.Wallace himself became a trending topic on Twitter over his comments and he quickly deleted them.But it was too late to put the genie back in the bottle and Wallace followed up with an apology.Later his team issued one as well saying the comments did not reflect the attitude of the Miami Dolphins.
