2 Weeks After Drug Company Promises to Lower Price, Nothing Has Changed

Martin Shkreli became one of the most hated people in the nation last month for increasing the price of the life saving drug Daraprim. When he decided to increase the price by 5,000% from $13.50 to $750 per pill, a media firestorm followed. This caused him to reverse his decision, promising to lower the drug to a more affordable price.

It’s been two weeks since that promise and the price remains the same. Instead, according to The Business Insider, he has taken the time to hire lobbyists to help "strategy development and implementation of the company's federal government relations initiatives." So it appears he has been getting work done, just not the work he promised. 

Martin's response to how he is going to improve the publics perception of his company was, "Yes, we have a plan. Very expensive, well articulated," Shkreli said. "Every media advisor is on our payroll," he added. 

Here's an idea: Maybe save that money and actually lower the price of the drug instead of spending it on the media to trick people into liking you. There. Problem solved. I won't even charge you for that consultation, Martin.
