#OffTheGrid book giveaway: Enter to win a signed copy of Abraham Bolden’s "The Echo from Dealey Plaza: The true story of the first African American on the White House Secret Service detail and his quest for justice after the assassination of JFK"

Abraham Bolden is considered the “Jackie Robinson” of the White House secret service detail.

He was the first African-American to become part of the President’s secret service detail, and he was hand picked by JFK himself. However, the other secret service agents didn’t welcome Bolden with open arms because they didn’t want integration to take place.

While Bolden was part of the White House detail, he heard many conversations among agents who did not like John F. Kennedy's policies. The agents discussed whether or not they would react if an assassination attempt occurred. Bolden reported this to his superiors, but his superiors transferred him instead of taking any action.

During his time as a secret service agent, Bolden uncovered two assassination plots against JFK prior to Dallas; both plots were identical to what actually transpired on November 22, 1963.
