Along with confirmingthe death of their only daughter Tuesday, Kayla Mueller’s parents havereleased the last letter she wrote to them while in the hands of ISIS.

It begins, “Everyone, If you are receivingthis letter it means I am still detained but my cell mates (startingfrom 11/2/2014) have been released. I have asked them to contact you +send you this letter.”

Mueller, 26, was abducted in Syria iwth her Syrian boyfriend in August of 2013, while working as an aide worker. Fox News details her time in captivity, being shuttled by the terroritsts from “a children’s hospital in Aleppo, an industrial area near the Turkish border, and the ISIS stronghold of Raqqa” and the US failed a raid attempt to rescue her.

Kayla contrasts her good health with those tortured or killed.

“It’s hard to know what to say. Please know that I am in a safe location, completely unharmed + healthy (put on weight in fact); I have been treated w/ the utmost respect + kindness.”

“I could only but write the letter a paragraph at a time, just the thought of you all sends me into a fit of tears.”

She asks for forgiveness, presumably because of “What she feels likeshe was putting her family through” and promises to be strong.

“I am not breaking down + I will not give in no matter how long ittakes. … I know you would want me to remain strong. That is exactly whatI am doing. Do not fear for me, continue to pray as will I + by God’swill we will be together soon.”
