Good news and Leavenworth don't often go together but back in early February we finally got some good news out of the Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary.

The U-S Army has approved hormone therapy for convicted whistle blower and American hero Chelsea Manning. In a February 5th memo obtained by USA Today Col. Erica Nelson the Commandant of Fort Leavenworth Disciplinary Barracks wrote, "after carefully considering the recommendation that hormone treatment is medically appropriate and necessary...I approve adding hormone treatment to Inmate Manning's treatment plan.”

To this I say hallelujah! And while some closed minded people will yell and holler about how their tax dollars shouldn't be going to support a freak and traitor like Manning.

I sit here now and write that I am damn proud to send my tax dollars to help Ms. Manning without any hesitation.

You see I'd rather my tax dollars go to help her than be used for the pensions of National Security State stooges like former Intelligence Committee Chair Mike Rogers.

Mr. President as you finish out your term in office you have a great opportunity to rebuild your tarnished legacy. To remind us of the bright young man who ran on change. A change to bring us back to the country we can truly be, rather than the ugly reality of what we are.

Ms. Manning, I truly hope that this therapy can bring you a little comfort after all the pain and agony the U-S government has put you through. You sacrificed your freedom to provide us with transparency. For that I will always say thank you.

I also have a message for President Obama.Mr. President as you finish out your term in office you have a great opportunity to rebuild your tarnished legacy. To remind us of the bright young man who ran on change.A change to bring us back to the country we can truly be, rather than the ugly reality of what we are.

So I ask you, Mr. President, please, pardon Chelsea Manning. She's suffered enough.Use your last act as President to right this great wrong and remind us all that the brilliant young man you once were is still in there.
