Pope Francis is really shaking up the status quo within the Catholic world: he says priests around the world can now forgive the "sin of abortion."  Amen.

"The forgiveness of God cannot be denied to one who has repented," Pope Francis said.  He reportedly knows women who have been traumatized by the experience.

The Pope's blessing on the issue means that priests around the globe can absolve Catholics who, "with contrite heart, seek forgiveness for" having an abortion.

"I am well aware of the pressure that has led to this decision," he wrote in his statement, according to NBC News.  "I know that it is an existential and moral ordeal."

Abortion is considered a sin by many within the Catholic faith.  However, NBC News reports that the Pope's message falls in line with the church's new stance towards extending a "range of mercy."

Hear that, Scott Walker?

Jesse Ventura himself is a big fan of Pope Francis: "I love this guy. I think Pope Francis is the best pope we’ve had in my lifetime, without a doubt. He tells the truth. When you tell the truth in the United States, you aren’t looked upon very well.  We would rather be lied to."
