Do Marco Rubio and his fellow GOPers not recall the 8 years prior to Obama’s presidency?Did they have a memory lapse? They don’t remember George W. Bush and Dick Cheney?
Marco Rubio needs to wake up and understand that history goes back farther than 8 years.
Do Rubio and his fellow GOPers not recall the 8 years prior to Obama’s presidency? Did they have a memory lapse? They don’t remember George W. Bush and Dick Cheney? They took a working economy and completely destroyed it. They put us into the worst recession since the Great Depression -- it shouldn’t even be called a “recession,” it was actually a depression. Bush and Cheney are responsible for that: they had full control of the House and Senate. In other words, do they believe that during the Bush administration we were heading the right way?
I’m amazed over their selective memory. How easy it is for the Republicans to forget where the country was from 2000 to 2008. These were the worst 8 years in my lifetime as a United States citizen.
That being said, let’s make one thing clear: I don’t support either party. I’m just observing as a true independent. I look at both sides, as I live through it, just like you. What I’m pointing out has nothing to do with the party system: it has to do with memory.
Does Marco Rubio not remember the state of our country from 2000 to 2008? I remember.
I remember driving to Mexico during the 2008 election. I turned to my wife and said, “I wouldn’t want to be the next president. Because the next president is going to get blamed for what George W. Bush and Dick Cheney did.”
Sure enough, the GOP blames Obama. Obama inherited the United States at the worst possible moment in my lifetime. I am not a Democrat. But facts are facts. If the Democrats had done what Bush and Cheney did, I would be making the same statement. If they would’ve been in power from 2000 to 2008, AND our economy tanked, AND they put us through two wars, AND allowed the biggest attack in U.S. history to happen, I would blame them equally. But it was the Republicans who were in charge.
Were certain GOP candidates sleeping from 2000 to 2008? They act like those were the best times in U.S. history, and all has gone downhill since Barack Obama took over as President of the United States. I’m not a big Obama fan, but I certainly understand what he stepped into. I admire him for some of the work he’s done since he inherited it from Bush and Cheney.
Thank God they limit the presidency to two terms so Bush and Cheney couldn’t steal a third election.
