Donald Trump's campaign manager Corey Lewandowski told the Washington Post: “He’s definitely not participating in the Fox News debate.  His word is his bond."

It’ll be interesting to see what their ratings will be!  And will the other candidates take the opportunity to go after him when he’s not there to defend himself?  They should stick to their own issues.

But if they try to bury Donald Trump while he’s not present, it just goes to show that Trump has fractured the Republican party.

I don’t blame Donald Trump.

Fox News is laying the traps for him.  He will not be treated equally if he does show up.

You can rest assured of that. If there was equal treatment, then I would say he’s making a mistake and that he should go. But I can understand why he wouldn’t: if you’re like me, you’re trained not to walk into an ambush.  And if Fox News is putting it on, it’s an ambush!

I don’t watch the debates in any case, but without Donald there, I certainly wouldn’t watch it! It’s a gamble on both sides.  It may seem like the wrong thing for Donald to do, but he seems immune to mistakes.  And it just might end up being the right thing for him.

What he ought to do now is take his vast amount of money and buy himself 20 minutes of time on TV.  That’s the danger the GOP faces with Trump: he can afford to do what he wants.
