According to MIT physicist, Marc Kastner, "Science funding is the lowest it has been since the Second World War and it's threatening America's future."
We asked Jesse what he thought of this news and he said,
"I think it’s an outrage and a tragedy. We spend $1.7 trillion on these wars, which help nobody. Yet we won’t fund science? How ridiculous. Imagine what we could achieve in scientific advancement if we used some of that money for research. The things we could discover are limitless. Science can make life better for every person on this planet."
Then he added,
"When’s the last time the defense budget got cut? We spend more on defense than 25 other countries in this world combined. Why spend all that money on defense when we’re falling behind in science? When has war ever done that?"
