Jesse Ventura: If You've Got A Billion Dollars, Why Do You Need More?

William Doran from New York has asked: What is your position regarding the relentless assault on public education and over-testing of students?

Jesse Says:

Standardized test can be good: they can provide a baseline for learning.  But...there's been setbacks because of it.  It allows teachers to no longer teach.  

All they do now is teach for these exams, which is wrong.  Teachers should be able to bring life and experience into the classroom.

When you go to school, it’s to prepare you for life.  It’s not just simply to pass an exam; it’s to have you mentally and physically prepared for the world out there.  

Limiting the teachers to teach only federal standards is not the answer.  I don’t like it.  I don’t think it’s going to do well in the long run.

I think he’s another phony.

Clearly, if your wife works in the upper echelon of Goldman Sachs, you’re not just a “regular guy" on the street.

My big question is: wasn’t he born in Canada?  How is he qualified to be our president?  He’s a Canadian!

Jesse Says:

Because we’re free to be free thinkers.

Linda, you don’t have to be an atheist but I hope I get your respect anyway.  I also hope that you’ll respect the beliefs that I have, just as I respect yours.

I’m an atheist because I’ve been here 63 years and God has never said a word to me.  I’ve never seen one indication that there is a supreme being who exists.  That’s the main reason.

I like to believe in things that I know exist.  No one has proven to me that God exists.  Until that's done, I will proudly claim that I am a freethinking atheist.

We atheists live by the same golden rule: treat others as you would want to be treated.

You don’t need a supreme being to be a good person.

Jesse Says:

Yes, I guess he could.

Remember, the president was out of town.  He was doing a photo op at the school down in Florida reading a book to the kids.  He was out of the loop at that point, which, when the attacks occurred, put Cheney in charge.

The big question is this: did they send Bush down there to get him out of the loop and put Cheney in charge?

Brittney Wagoner from KS has asked: What if the wealthy of the world would realize that too much money is possibly a disease?  Then they could fund projects that ensure our posterity.

Jesse Says:

It’s like I said: if you’ve got a billion dollars, why do you need anymore?  How could you possibly spend a billion dollars in your lifetime?

So, for people that are worth over a billion dollars, why would they take a salary for anything they do?  I wouldn’t.

If you give me a billion dollars, I’d work for nothing!
