Hackers give ISIS Twitter accounts rainbow makeovers

After the Orlando massacre at a gay club over the weekend, the hacker collective called “Anonymous” has been fighting ISIS using Twitter.

The “hacktivist” collective, Anonymous, infiltrated hundreds of pro-ISIS twitter accounts this week, giving them rainbow makeovers. ISIS is notoriously homophobic. It outlaws LGBT people and, in many cases, executes them. A hacker who uses the name WauchulaGhost is responsible for many of the Twitter hacks.

WauchulaGhost has also reportedly been tweeting out the ISIS users’ IP addresses, phone numbers and other contact information for other hackers to utilize.

“I did it for the lives lost in Orlando,” WauchulaGhost explained.

“Daesh [ISIS] have been spreading and praising the attack, so I thought I would defend those that were lost. The taking of innocent lives will not be tolerated.”

The hacker continued, “Our actions are directed at Jihadist extremists. Many of our own [group of hackers] are Muslim and we respect all religions that do not take innocent lives.”
