With award season just around the corner, movie buffs everywhere are scrambling to watch this year’s nominations in time for the show. Golden Globe nominations were announced earlier this month and Oscar nominees are set to be announced in mid-January. This year, movies such as “12 Years a Slave” and “American Hustle” are leading the pack with 7 nominations each.
But, as 2013 quickly comes to an end, one can’t help but wonder what movies will be box office hits in 2014? Here are some movies to keep an eye out for in the coming months:
- Due out in April, Johnny Depp’s new film Transcendence is sure to draw an audience. Directed by Christopher Nolan, Depp plays a plays an artificial intelligence researcher obsessed with creating a sentient machine.
- Hitting theaters in May is Godzilla. Directed by Gareth Edwards, Godzilla promises to be a box office hit just judging from it’s all star cast, which includes Bryan Cranston, Juliette Binoche, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe, and David Strathairn. Check out the trailer here.
- In July, get ready for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. As a follow up to 2011′s Rise of the Planet of the Apes, viewers watch as Caesar, the genetically altered hyper-intelligent chimpanzee who was James Franco's BFF, lead a nation of genetically altered apes. Get ready for a less friendly Caesar this time around…
