James Cameron Announced Avatar Sequel

On Monday, James Cameron announced that he'll be making an "Avatar Trilogy of Sequels." And yes, he clearly wrote that announcement himself.

Sigourney Weaver has commited to return to the project although she won't be reprising her original role since her character (SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO SLEPT THROUGH MOST OF AVATAR) died in the first movie. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Stephen Lang will also be returning for the next three movies.

James Cameron whipped up the combined 17 hours of script last week and production will begin immediately on a shoestrong $40 billion budget. (We can't confirm any of those facts.)  The first sequel is set to be released in December 2016. (We can confirm that.)
