Tim Howard Is America's Very Own And Far Superior David Beckham

Yesterday, Tim Howard defended his way into America's heart. Yes, we liked him before but his record breaking 16 saves during the World Cup game against Belgium made him an American hero. And even though America lost the World Cup, we gained a new soccer player we could name besides David Beckham or Landon Donovan. Hey McDonald's, you can replace David Beckham with Tim Howard in your commercials now, k?  Thanks. But now that Tim Howard is super famous we need to do our best to keep him away from the Kardashians. Stay back, Khloe!

Americans were so excited about his performance, he was named Secretary of Defense on Wikipedia for a few hours so there's probably some kid out there in summer school terribly misinformed. Isn't America great?

There's a petition circulating to rename Washington DC's airport the "Tim Howard National Airport." They only need about 90,000 more signatures to get a response from the White House. You can sign it here.

Even Tim knew he was destined for great things. His high school yearbook quote? "It will take a nation of millions to hold me back."

So while the game was heartbreaking for Tim, he's holding his head up high.

And we are sitting back and enjoying all the tweets about him.

With the 4th of July on Friday, I think we'll all proudly salute our flag and sing in our hearts, "And I'll gladly stand up, next to you and "Tim Howard" her still today, for there ain't no doubt I love this land. God bless the USA!" #ReplaceDefenseWithTimHoward
