Norman Reedus wants to be 'The Ghost Rider'

'Walking Dead' star Norman Reedus would love to take on the iconic role of Marvel hero 'Ghost Rider'

It has been five years since Nicholas Cage last donned the fiery skull of 'Ghost Rider' in 'Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance.' So, the franchise seems ripe for a reboot and Norman Reedus who plays Daryl Dixon on AMC's 'The Walking Dead' wants to be next in line to ride Johnny Blaze's 'Hell Cycle.'

In an interview with UpRoxx , when asked if he would be interested in the role of 'Ghost Rider,' Reedus who is a motorcycle enthusiast said, "Hell, yeah...it would be a blast. Do I get a skull face that’s on fire and all that stuff? F*** yeah. I’m down." Reedus also expressed that he was a fan of Cage's portrayal of the Marvel character.

According to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, there are no current plans to reboot the film franchise at this time, however, with the success of 'Deadpool' one could assume that 'Ghost Rider' will make its way back into Marvel's plans. Marvel reacquired the rights to the film franchise in 2013.

One thing is for sure: Reedus would love to play the character and based on his current role and his interests, he is a great fit.

Luckily, Reedus won't have to wait until 'Ghost Rider' to get on a motorcycle. 'Ride with Norman Reedus' premieres on AMC this Sunday, June 12. The show features Reedus exploring local biker culture and celebrating the best and brightest collectors, mechanics, and craftsmen around the country.
