Slayer Guitarist Jeff Hanneman Dead at 49

Slayer guitarist and founding member Jeff Hanneman died today at 49 from liver failure, according to a post on the band's website and facebook. The band's spokesperson said Hanneman had suffered from a spider bite in 2011 that may have contributed to his liver failure, according to the Huffington Post. Fans and musicians are mourning the loss on twitter, party rocker Andrew WK calling Hanneman a "metal god."
