One of Hillary Clinton's closest aides, Huma Abedin, is being interviewed by the FBI as their probe into the security of Clinton’s private email server nears completion, according to reports.
The ongoing investigation so far has not turned up any evidence to prove that Clinton willfully violated the law. Officials have also said that Abedin has been cooperative with the investigation.
Multiple aides have been interviewed in recent weeks, some more than once, officials said.
The Clinton campaign said on Thursday that they've been cooperative with the Justice Department review from the beginning. The FBI is expected to interview Hillary Clinton in the coming weeks.
Brian Fallon, Clinton's press secretary, said in a statement: "From the start, Hillary Clinton has offered to answer any questions that would help the Justice Department complete its review, and we hope and expect that anyone else who is asked would do the same. We are confident the review will conclude that nothing inappropriate took place."

Another former Clinton employee, Bryan Pagliano, who helped set-up the server has also provided interviews as well as documents and other materials to the FBI, under an immunity agreement. FBI officials have said that they expect to complete their probe some time in the next few weeks and then turn over the findings to the Justice Department, which will make a final decision on whether to bring charges against anyone.
In an interview with MSNBC earlier this week, Clinton said she had not yet been contacted by federal authorities to set-up an interview. FBI Director James Comey stated in recent public statements that the investigation was continuing and that the only emphasis was to conduct a thorough review.
