Mystery Wine Revealed: 2010 Beekeeper Zinfandel

This week William Shatner sat down with his horse trainer Tom Foran who he has known for years. It was obvious that both of them felt right at home around the beautiful horses.

So let's review! The two sipped on a 2010 Beekeeper Zinfandel.

The Beekeeper Zinfandel is a very complex wine produced in California. Zinfandel is a variety of black skinned wine grapes and is planted in about 10% of California Vineyards. Click here to learn more about Zinfandel Wines.  Ian Blackburn makes the Beekeeper wine and we discovered there is a unique story behind the name "Beekeeper."

"[Ian Blackburn] borrowed the crest of Blackburn, England, where a lot of honey is made. This fit well with the fact that his great-great-great grandparents came to America as actors.Acting wasn’t one of the professions available on the form, so they wrote down “beekeeper.”When Ian told his father of the name he had chosen for his wine, Dad told him, “That was my radio handle in the war!”The name seems to have been destined for his use."
