Wasteland Weekend 2014: Costumes and Armor

Just because the world ended doesn't mean style went with it. Take some notes from these fashion-forward survivors.

If you're looking to survive the apocalypse, don't forget to look the part. Here are the best outfits we encountered this year at Wasteland Weekend.

The trick is to get as creative as possible, assembling an entire look from trash and trinkets you otherwise would never wear.

Even in the flashiest ensemble, include some secrets just for yourself. This guy made his cleaver's handle out of a hollow pipe that can hold 4 oz. of this favorite beverage (notice the screw-cap on the bottom?). So make sure you save some drinks for the apocalypse, and your friends.

Speaking of which, don't forget to bring a friend, like Audrey's glow-in-the-dark skull-on-a-stick named Buster.

Or if you can swing it, bring a pet to the apocalypse. Is it just me or does this canine strongly resemble Dogmeat from Fallout 3 ?

Don't be afraid to pull inspiration from those end-of-the-world stories, like this Psycho from Borderlands.

Of course we can't show off the best homemade outfits without a little runway action. To  creations from real Wasteland fashion designers, the Boulet Brothers hosted a fashion show.

Turns out weapons are a big trend this season. The deadlier, the better.

But it wasn't all about survival. Plenty of wastelanders arrived in their finest desert couture.

Last but not least, we have to include ourselves in this batch of lunatics.
