Hawaii just became the first state to ban plastic bags. The plastic bag ban first hit the Hawaiian islands when Maui implemented a ban in 2011, quickly followed by Kauai in the same year, and Hawaii County in 2013.California is considering a similar ban, which is already in effect in cities such as San Francisco.
I think it’s wonderful. I think there’s far too much plastic used in the world. Most things that you throw away will eventually become dirt. Plastic will not.
We have to be very careful about this completely man made substance. I think it’s a great idea to start limiting plastic. I wish we would start limiting plastic bottles as well.
