Rep. Rick Nolan introduced a bill that would prevent members of Congress from getting paid in the event of a government shutdown.
This is a step in the right direction and he has the right intention. Good luck getting the majority to agree to it though.
It should absolutely be the law. If the government shuts down they’re part of the government, so they absolutely should not get paid. Why should you pay someone for not working?
I completely support this bill. They should not be paid. I think it should even go a step farther and that they should be fired for allowing the government to shut down.
